The Calgary Gators are proud to announce an international tour to Germany in April 2026, marking the official start of the 2026 season and a significant milestone for the organization.

The team’s first stop will be in southern Germany on April 11, where they will face the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, one of the most recognizable and successful franchises in European football and five-time German Champions. The matchup will provide a unique opportunity to experience Germany’s rich football culture, passionate fan base, and renowned game-day atmosphere. Fans are encouraged to explore the Unicorns’ documentary, Unicorn Town, for deeper insight into their program.

The tour will continue north to Minden on April 18, where the team will take on the Minden Wolves, one of Germany’s fastest-rising programs. Fresh off a regional championship and newly promoted to the GFL2, the Wolves are poised to make an immediate impact under the leadership of head coach Phillip Gamble. This matchup promises a highly competitive and exciting contest.

In addition to game competition, the organization is working to finalize a youth football camp in partnership with one of the German teams during the trip. Further details will be released once plans are confirmed.

This international tour represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for players, coaches, and supporters alike. The organization is thankful to everyone who has contributed to making this experience possible and looks forward to representing the Alberta Football League with pride. Beyond competition, the trip emphasizes cultural exchange, mutual respect, and the shared passion for the game of football.

With preparations now underway—including fundraising, training, and recruiting—the team is ready to embrace the challenge ahead. This tour officially marks the beginning of the 2026 season, and the organization invites the community to be part of this historic journey.
